El conflicto en Oaxaca pasó a primer término durante la marcha para recordar la matanza de estudiantes el 2 de octubre de 1968. Entre las consignas de manifestantes se escucharon: "no a la militarización; no a la represión del movimiento popular y rechazo a la intimidación de cuerpos policiacos". Ex dirigentes del 68 dijeron que la fiscalía para crímenes del pasado sólo fue un parapeto para que prevaleciera la impunidad de responsables, como la del ex presidente Luis Echeverría
